Our treatment methods

We are trained in several key evidence-based therapies. Your therapist will talk with you about which type of therapy would work best to fit your needs.

When you first come to our office, we will talk with you about your situation, many times give you as assessment to better understand you, and devise a course of treatment in partnership with you.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of psychosocial assistance that helps people with a range of mental illnesses, mostly sadness and anxiety disorders, feel better. Being treated with cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the best ways to help people who have mental health concerns.

  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy is a short form of attachment-based psychotherapy that focuses on fixing problems between people and getting better from symptoms. It is a method that has been shown to work and is very organized and has a time limit.

  • People can learn to change their negative behaviors and feelings once they understand how their past actions and emotions have caused them.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy that helps individuals overcome trauma. EMDR works well to help post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Bilateral stimulations is used while thinking about the stressful event during EMDR sessions. All sessions are done together with the help of a therapist.

  • EFT is mostly used to help adults improve the ties they have with others. It is a short-term therapy with three key steps: calming down, reorganizing, and integrating. It can help couples who are having trouble communicating, fighting, or being upset with each other.

  • Trauma therapy assists persons who have been through terrible circumstances in dealing with the emotional repercussions. It could mean writing about these events, talking about how they made you feel, or using exposure methods to deal with things that remind you of the trauma. Sometimes this kind of treatment combines somatic, EMDR, schema, interpersonal, and cognitive therapies.

  • Schema-focused therapy is a researched based method to assist those who have difficulty personality and relational traits. The goal is to change basic schemas, which are long-lasting ways of thinking learned in childhood. These early schemas tend to show up as common behavioral and thinking patterns as adults. However, these schemas tend to cause more trouble than we realize. Schema therapy is well-known around the world, but only a handful of therapist in the US are actually trained and certified in our country.

Our speciality

Schema Therapy

Schemas or ‘negative life beliefs’ can lead to low self-esteem, lack of connection to others, problems expressing feelings and emotions and excessive worrying about basic safety issues. The beliefs can also create strong attraction to inappropriate partners and lead to dissatisfying careers. Schema therapy addresses these issues through a series of assessments, personal assignments and thorough exploration of the schemas with the therapist while in session.

Phase 1

When you first begin sessions, we’ll take time to get to know one another. We want to connect with you, gather as much information as we can, and build a trusting relationship.

Phase 2

Schema therapy integrates a wide variety of models and techniques into a cohesive theory structured around maladaptive and adaptive schemas, or positive and negative life patterns, and a knowledge of how they emerge and evolve.

Phase 3

. The combination of techniques that will be most effective for you may be determined with the help of a thorough and in-depth study of the causes of your problems. You and your therapist will work collaboratively to refine this approach as your treatment progresses.

Schema Therapy vs. Alternative Therapy Approaches

An integrated, unified theory and treatment called schema therapy is intended to address a range of persistent emotional issues that have important roots in your early life and/or adolescents development.
